Climate in Action

Workshop on climate change and action competence

Focus area: Climate change । Age: 10–14 । SDG 13 – Climate action

Description:

“Climate in Action” builds on the understanding of climate change and focuses on SOLUTIONS. Children learn about energy, waste, transport, nature and sustainable habits – and how we as humans can act now.

The workshop makes climate responsibility concrete, present and motivating for both young and old children.

Creative Practical Activity

Children design their own “Mini-Green City” – a cardboard model of a climate-friendly city of the future with cycle paths, solar cells, wind turbines, recycling stations and green areas.

  • Build houses from recycled materials
  • Draw energy sources: sun, wind, water
  • Discussion: What makes a city sustainable?

Digital Activity

Children use  Microsoft Designer to create a digital campaign poster: “My Green Action Today” – a simple concrete action they can take for the climate.

  • Choose a theme: energy, waste, transport, nature
  • Create a slogan: “I turn off the lights!”, “I cycle more!”, “I sort my waste!”
  • Save, share or print the poster
