Kindness in Action

Workshop om mobning, respekt og aktiv venlighed

Focus area: Bullying । Age: 4–14 । SDG 16 – Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions

Description:

“Kindness in Action” teaches children what kindness means in practice: how small actions can strengthen community, stop bullying and create safety in groups. The workshop makes empathy concrete and tangible.

Children practice social skills, cooperation and positive communication through play, art and digital tools.

Creative Practical Activity

In this activity, children work with both calligraphy and creating their own Kindness Book. The focus is to strengthen children’s ability to express kindness through words, aesthetics and small actions

  • Introduction to calligraphy: basic strokes, letter shapes and simple brush pen techniques
  • Children write kindness words such as: “Thank you”, “Respect”, “Courage”, “Care”, “Friendship”
  • Creation of “Kindness Book” with calligraphy words and small illustrations
  • Shared conversation about how words can affect feelings and community
  • Optional: Children exchange kindness cards with calligraphy messages

Digital Activity

Children can create a digital Friendship Poster or a digital contribution to the class kindness wall. Instead of Canva, we now use **Microsoft Designer** (intuitive, AI-assisted layout) for the slightly older children and **Kid Pix** for the younger ones who need a simple, playful and drawing-oriented experience.

  • Microsoft Designer: Quick templates, automatic layout suggestions and easy text-to-image assistance — good for 8+ years.
  • Kid Pix: Drawing tool aimed at the youngest, with a simple palette, fun brushes and audio feedback — ideal for 4–8 years.
  • Children can combine their calligraphy words from the analog exercise with digital backgrounds and icons.
  • Print or display digitally on a class projector/interactive board, or upload to a shared kindness wall online.

Tips: Prepare templates in Microsoft Designer before the workshop, and have Kid Pix installed offline on tablets where internet access is unstable.
