Faith & Friendship
Workshop on Religious Issues, Respect and Community
Focus Area: Religious Issues ।Age: 10–14 । SDG 16.B – Respect for Diversity
Description:
“Faith and Friendship” introduces children to religious issues in a safe, neutral and inclusive way. The focus is on understanding, curiosity and respect. Children learn that people believe differently – and that differences can be a strength in a community.
The workshop strengthens tolerance, dialogue skills and the ability to create friendships across faiths and cultures.
Creative Practical Activity
Children create a “Respect Heart” – a symbol where each part represents something they respect in others: rituals, traditions, values or ways of being.
- Draw hearts in different colours
- Write words such as: respect, kindness, understanding, peace
- Conversation: “How do we show respect, even when we are different?”
Digital Activity
Children use Microsoft Designer to create a “Diversity is Strength” poster, where they choose symbols and words that show diversity and friendship.
